Mobile van repair · London-wide

The mechanic comes
to the van. Wet belts
a speciality.

We work on light commercials at your yard, depot, site or driveway — no workshop visit, no drop-off, no day lost. And we take the belt-in-oil engines seriously, because those are the ones that quietly destroy themselves.

The one that kills engines

If your van has a belt running inside the oil, it is on a clock

Ford's 1.0 EcoBoost, 1.5 and 2.0 EcoBlue, and the Stellantis 1.2 PureTech and 1.5 / 1.6 BlueHDi all run the cambelt in the engine oil. As the belt ages it sheds rubber. That rubber blocks the oil pickup strainer, oil pressure drops, and the engine is finished — usually with no warning beyond a light that comes on far too late.

It is completely preventable. It is also the single most common reason we get called to a van that is already beyond saving.

What we do about it →

Signs worth acting on today

  • Rattle from the timing end on a cold start
  • Oil pressure or oil level light, even briefly
  • Black sludge or rubber flecks on the dipstick
  • Oil changes that have been stretched or skipped
  • Wrong oil spec used at a quick-fit service

Any of those and it is worth a look now — an inspection costs a fraction of an engine.

What we do at your site

Being straight about the limits saves everyone a wasted visit — so here are both halves of the list.

Yes — at your place

Done where the van is

  • Wet belt inspection and oil pickup / strainer check
  • Wet belt replacement where access and time allow
  • Full and interim servicing, correct oil spec
  • Diagnostics and fault code interpretation
  • Brake pads, discs and fluid
  • Batteries, alternators, starter motors
  • Glow plugs and cold-starting faults
  • Sensors, wiring and electrical faults
  • Filters, fluids, belts, bulbs and wipers
  • Pre-MOT checks

If it doesn't need the van lifted, it can normally be done on site.

Not mobile

Needs a workshop

  • Clutches and gearbox work
  • Welding and structural repair
  • The MOT test itself
  • Engine rebuilds after a belt has already let go
  • Anything needing a two-post lift

We say so before we come out, not after — and you are not charged for a wasted visit. Where it needs a workshop we will tell you what it is and roughly what it should cost, so you are not going in blind.

Not sure what your van needs?

Put the registration in and we'll tell you whether it's a wet-belt engine, and what is due, overdue or coming up.

Free, no details needed. Guidance only — we confirm everything against the van itself before quoting.

How a call-out runs

Call or WhatsApp

Registration, what it's doing, and where the van is. A photo or a short video of the noise helps more than a paragraph.

We price it

Call-out and labour quoted up front. If it's a workshop job we say so then, not after arriving.

We come to you

Yard, depot, site or home. We need safe access and room to work around the van — that's it.

Fixed or diagnosed

Most jobs finish on the visit. If a part has to be ordered you get the price and the date before we leave.

Fleet servicing on site

Service the fleet without standing it down

If your vans are earning during the day, we'll come to the yard early, late or at weekends and work through them where they're parked. One visit can cover several vans, which normally costs less per vehicle than sending each one to a garage separately.

On a mixed fleet we'll also tell you which of your vans are on belt-in-oil engines and where each one sits on its clock — that list alone is usually worth the visit.

Arrange a fleet visit

What we need from you

  • Somewhere safe and reasonably level to work
  • Room to open the doors and bonnet fully
  • Keys and, ideally, the service history
  • Access details if the site is gated or barriered

We carry our own tools, lighting and power. Underground and multi-storey car parks are fine with headroom for a standard van.

Where we cover

Greater London and the near M25. If you're outside it, ask — for a fleet visit it often still works, and we'll quote the travel honestly.

Questions we get asked

Do you have a garage I can bring the van to?

Not at the moment — we are mobile only, and we would rather say that plainly than pretend otherwise. In practice it suits most of our customers better: the van stays where it is working. Where a job genuinely needs a ramp we'll tell you what it is and help you get it booked somewhere sensible.

Can you replace a wet belt at my yard?

Often yes — it's a long job rather than an impossible one, and it needs level ground, safe access and most of a day. We'll confirm it for your specific engine before booking, because on some vans the access is genuinely too tight to do it properly outside a workshop. See the wet belt page.

Do you charge a call-out fee?

Yes, and it's quoted before we set off along with the labour, so the total is agreed in advance. It isn't added to the bill afterwards as a surprise.

Can you come today?

Sometimes — breakdowns get fitted in where we can. Call rather than email if the van is off the road today; email may not be seen until the evening.

Can you work on a public road?

Only for straightforward jobs, and only where it's safe and legal. A yard, driveway or car park is always better, and some jobs we will refuse to do at the kerb.

Do you work on fleets?

Yes. We can service a run of vans in one visit, out of hours if the vehicles are working during the day, and invoice monthly on account.
